Maine Summer 2026

About

Summer brings Erin and Brian to the coast of Maine, where rocky shorelines, pine-framed harbors, and postcard-perfect villages make for some of the best sailing in the world. With over 3,000 islands scattered along its jagged coast, Maine is a sailor’s paradise—each harbor, cove, and anchorage offering something different to explore. Their journey begins around Casco Bay and the lively port city of Portland, known for its working waterfront, cobblestone streets, and world-class food scene. From there, they weave their way “Down East” toward Penobscot Bay, where countless islands, hidden anchorages, and charming coastal towns create endless opportunities for adventure. Some of their favorite sailing destinations include Boothbay Harbor, with its classic New England charm and lively summer energy; Camden, often called the “jewel of the coast,” nestled between the mountains and the sea; and Rockland, a vibrant arts community and gateway to nearby Vinalhaven and North Haven, two of Maine’s most beautiful island escapes. Eggemoggin Reach offers serene, protected sailing surrounded by spruce-covered islands, while Mount Desert Island and Acadia National Park deliver breathtaking scenery—where granite cliffs meet the sea and every sunset feels a little bit unreal. For Erin and Brian, sailing Maine is the perfect blend of rugged beauty and quiet simplicity—days spent exploring wild islands, evenings anchored in peaceful coves, and nights filled with the scent of pine and sea air drifting through the cabin.
